Review
I made some mistakes in my life. Like for example, choosing wrong major in my second year of college. Or, heck, choosing my school in college has been my major mistake. My other mistake in literary world is that I didn't read this book soon after I bought this book two years ago.
But, it's not my fault though. The thickness of King's books can be sometimes daunting, and if you can see how small the fonts that are used in this book, you will cringe. I have toughened up myself to read this; this book has been my personal challenge for years, and I cry because it seems I cannot finish the book. However, God is good as He gives me such a super-long leisure time so I can finish the book. It turns out that this book is really captivating, and I can conquer this monstrous book in just only three days.
I mean I know I will love this book only based on premise. It's a time travel tale about a boring English teacher, named Jake Tepping, who gets a mission to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy. I just wouldn't believe that I will really love the book.
Jake Tepping is such a fun narrator. King is known with his detail, and it is shown on the way Tepping narrates. Sometimes he's snarky too, and I really love him before I even realize it. The first few pages are extremely dull, though, and it is one of the reasons why I'm struggling with this book. But, when I have gripped some pace, I find this book entertaining, thrilling, and nail-biting. This can be tough read, I have to admit, sometimes the excitement level dwindles, but Epping tries to capture my attention with his charming story that I can relate. The other characters are really lovable.
I am still hyperventilating after I finished reading this book. I would never guess that kind of this book would leave me hangover, but surprise me! This is my first read of King, but yeah, he's really king in crafting and twisting words into sentences into such an amazing story. Sorry, for my lame pun. This book is definitely one book that I will cherish in my entire life. So, back off King-hater and you snob people who hate Stephen King just because he's far more successful than you are. I prefer reading and #entertaining book to snobbish literature. Bye.
